Well, that sure is a fun name. Young Gangan Magazine has announced that Sumomomo Momomo ~Chijou Saikyo no Yume~ will be adapted into an anime. The manga, published by Square Enix, as is the magazine that announced the move to animation, is a martial arts, comedy, romance story. You know, sort of like Ranma, but it ends at some point. Anyway, to further fill out the general information category, the manga was originally drawn and written by Ohtaka Shinobu and the second half of the title translates to "the World's Strongest Bride." The first half means nothing. I stole the post image right off the linked site. Haha, normally I try a little harder. I'm getting lazy.
April 2006
According to Gekkan Shonen Magazine, Pumpkin Scissors, an action manga by Iwanaga Ryoutarou, will be adapted into an anime. The series is set to be a TV series and will feature animation by GONZO and AIC. Word also has it that Akiyama Katsuhito will be directing. You might notice that name if you're a fan of Bubblegum Crisis 2040. Which I am not. The chatacter designs for this show are sort of old looking. Sadly, there isn't an official site online yet, so no other information is available.
You a big fan of Clannad? Eh? Then it might please you to know that Kotobukiya's rendition of Sakagami Tomoyo has hit the streets! I swear the quality of product that comes out of Kotobukiya, and Max Factory, et al. is just ridiculous. Their figures are always awesome, accurate renderings of the characters in question. It makes me proud to be a consumer. This particular figure, from Clannad, is based on a previously released resin kit, that, you know, looked exactly the same. She has a custom base that looks like typical Japanese kitchen flooring and she'll cost you 3,654 yen.
Picture after the jump. This post took forever to write because I was watching South Park. RIP Gary and Mingey.
Now, this is one of those figures that is too shiny for its own good… well, depending on which picture you look at. Either way, it's definitely well modeled, and well look good on your shelf next to your other scantily clad lady friends. Don't listen to the haters, Rio from Super Black Jack will keep you company. That's right. If you act fast, you can pick up the recently released Toy Planning distributed vixen. She was just released on the 18th, and her stock levels seem to be holding, but who knows how long that could last?! Buy her now! Spend your 8,190 yen and take her home with you! Ok enough of that. She's 280mm tall.
Yes, yes. A picture with lots of angles after the jump. View it now!
Surprise, surprise. Here I am, posting at night. Hardee-har-har. Didn't see that one coming did you?! Well, here I am posting the figure news I was planning to post tomorrow. OH YEAH! This time, we're talking about a super keen repaint of the Mon-Sieur Bome Collection Vol. 7 figure. That's right. Everyone's favorite bunny girl has been repainted with what I consider to be a nicer set of clothes. The new black outfit for well with the white ears and altogether it fits really well. The new paint job will cost 3,675 yen and be out towards the end of July.
An advert image with some nice pictures after the jump. Bunny, bunny, bunny.
If Gundam SEED: Destiny is your sort of show, then you'll be happy to hear about the upcoming figures from the show. Both were announced for May, both will cost you 3,990 yen, and both are wearing bikinis! Except the last part is only half true! And by both will cost you 3,990 yen, I mean that each individual figure will cost you 3,990 yen, not that you could get them as a set. Stop being such a cheap bastard all the time.
The lady in the bathing suit is Meer Campbell and the lady in the space suit is Lunamaria Hawke in case you were wondering. Both of them will be making a special, tonight-only appearance, back-stage of the After the Jump Club! Don't miss it! Oh and that's it for figures today. I have four more for tomorrow, and possibly some new announcements if there are any/if I have time.
Max Factory is just cranking out the trading figures these days. First they announce the Last Exile figures, that are too awesome, and then they announce these equally high quality Higurashi no Naku Koro ni trading figures. These cute little figures look like they will be sporting some impressive detail, right on down the the shoes. And gashapon can go horribly wrong, let me tell you, especially when you're dealing with full body characters. Anywhoo, these figures are set to come out in August and the entire set will cost you a paltry 5,600 yen. And yes, you can take off all their pants.
Picture after the jump.
You guys might have noticed by now, but a lot of times I stick to figures that only have good pictures. Well, this isn't always true. Just when I am playing catch-up. So anyway, I know I'm not putting everything that was announced up, just so you don't think I'm retarded. If you're excited about something and want to see me post about it, then submit it with the contact button.
Anyway, on the 14th, this wonderful Tama-nee figure from To hearts 2 got released. This lovely rendering was put together by Kotobukiya, and features some of the most burnt hair I think I've yet seen on a PVC. I'm all for shading and everything, but it feels like they went a little overboard. Oh well! As I said, she's out now and she costs only 3,990 yen.
A nice clear picture after the jump.
There are already some Range Murata trading figures out on the market, but I found that there was some happy news in the world when I heard that Max Factory was putting out some of the nicest trading figures I've yet seen, and that they're from Last Exile to boot! Man, those things are really nice looking. That have been announced for August, and will run you 6,800 yen for the set. Oh, and just a heads up, they're mostly busts, so if you're not into busts, don't act all disappointed.
I guess I'll throw the picture after the jump. Not much of a point to it though.
Well, if you've been following, um, Muteki Kanban Musume's progress towards a television anime series, then you'll be excited about this short bit of news! Sexually excited even! Especially by that last character in the picture. A Japanese game news site by the name of EG has posted up the first character designs for the upcoming anime.
That's it. You can stop reading now.
