Sadly, all the picture that are out for the sultry Sei figure are sort of grainy, but I doubt that will stop any of you from snatching it up. Although, the price may be something you want to take a look at before throwing your credit card down for purchasing glory. The 1/8th scale figure, which was released on the 29th, will run you an amazing 7,770 yen. I mean, I'm not sure what size the thing clocks in at overall, but it does sport a keen removable coat so you can get those huge breasts right out there in the open and let them breathe, but I'm not entirely sure that makes the price any more acceptable. Though, they are a company who doesn't do a ton with PVC in this area, so it's a bit understandable. The modeling doesn't look like it's screaming first rate, though. And the color use is a bit too bright and cartoony.

Three shots up after the jump. They're grainy, but you can make due. That's it for today, though. I have some stuff to finish up.

This figure, that I bitched about before, is a perfect example of how release dates can slip far away from where they used to be (WHYYYY?! I need Saki in cosplay!!) It was due out last month, but it's just been released yesterday. It's Good Smile Company's Clothes Changing Ono(I dropped the H that most people tack on. Including me from the past!) from Genshiken. The skirt's removable and you can get all your perverted little things going on there. WHATEVER! She doesn't want you anyway! Man, I wish they'd make a second season of Genshiken. Anyway, she's out now and she'll run you 4,500 yen at the register.

Picture after the jump. Nothing new.

If you are a big bunny girl fan then I have some good news for you. If you're a fan of boobs you could hold tea service on, then I have excellent news. Yamato has released that flat topped bunny girl that got shown off about a million years ago… or so it feels like. Yes, Inabaya's Bunny Girl Ridia is out and in the world, in not only a regular purple haired version, but a black haired, white suited version to make you happy and gleeful and all that sort of stuff. You will have to pay a thousand more yen to get the black version at 4,935 yen and the white version retails for 4,835. Though, that could be a typo. Who knows.

Pictures of both after the jump. Would you look at those boobs though. Wow. Maybe it's just the product shots, but she has to be feeling awkward.

Ok, today and yesterday saw an anus ton of figure drops, so that's what I am going to toss on you today. I think we end up with 5 total unique figures, and 2 color versions of one of them. I am leaving off a few because they sold out already. Anyway, coming at you first from CMS is a set of trading figures featuring action packed character poses from Mai-Otome and Mai-HiME. The figures are out now, and will run you 7,560 yen for the entire box or 600 yen each for individuals at your local retailer.

Picture after the jump for these. Not too great of quality.

There's a WMV trailer online for the upcoming Mai-HiME PC game, Unmei no Keitoujyu Shura. You can grab the trailer here. The game will be out on June 30th. And if you'd like to read me yelling at idiots, please keep reading.

Ok, people. Let's just establish something here. It is Mai-HiME, NOT My-HiME or My Hime or any of that other bullshit. Allow me to explain. You see, the show's title is comprised of the kanji Mai, meaning Dancing, or To Dance or whatever. You'll notice this is not a possessive form of anything. No one owns anything. Moving on. HiME, being an abbreviation for Highly-advanced Materializing Equipment. Ok, so you see what we have here is a sort of a play on words. The title is saying Dancing Princesses, but also using princesses as an abbreviation for the tech behind their powers. If any of you real brainy mother fuckers on the internet can go ahead and point me to the part that is posessive, first person in the title, I'll be happy to give up my point, but the title as it is makes perfect sense without you idiots ruining it up with nonsense because the things sound the same. For the love of god, just pay a little attention to the culture that this stuff comes from. Hell, I don't even like Mai-HiME, but I get it. God damn.

You know, I think I have mentioned it before, but my most favorite TV network in the world is WOWOW. I mean how great of a station name is that. It just does so much with only five letters. Anyway, WOWOW has put up the official station page for Wa-wa-wa-wappi-chan. And to answer your question, yes. The art is as disturbing and gross as the title of the show seems to imply. But then, on the other hand, all the characters in Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu are attractive. What's that have to do with anything? NOTHING!

Hey, how's things? I'm running a bit late, but you understand, right? Well, good. Anyway, Sasou Akira's manga Shindou is being turned into a live action film. The film is set to star Narumi Riko as a young piano prodigy. Apparently, she larned piano at five. What that has to do with acting, I couldn't tell you but people seem to think that makes her well suited for the role. How old were you when you parents "urged" you to take the piano lessons they bought for you? YOU MIGHT BE A CHILD PRODIGY! WHO KNOWS!?! Oh well, some loli, some piano playing. I'm sure it'll be top notch.

And all you live action crappers can be happy and notice that I finally started up a live-action category. It will still be stuff that's based on anime, I just figures people want an easy way to find it, and tagging it out to live action is a good way to do it.

Well, I certainly hope everyone had a tiptop weekend or whatever. I've noticed a few issues with the site (and fixed some). Most of them stem from the move to Windows as a server. Most of it, I've had to fix without any real help from any official source. Nice to see WordPress is so cross platform minded. Anyway, I am using a mod_rewrite ripoff for IIS that does URL redirects in a strictly superficial sort of way, so often next page links are sending to less sexy URLs. Nothing I can do about it though. Not at this point anyway. If WP would just keep page links in the same format, this wouldn't be an issue. Damn you, WordPress! Anyway, I have to take my car to the shop and do a bux-fix install for a client, so let's do this thang!

Anime/Manga

  • Central Park Media laid off most of it's staff in preparation for bankruptcy. Best of luck to the newly unemployed… unless you worked on dubs. In which case, get a real job, you hippie.
  • FUNimation will be putting out Beck in the US, or so they said at Anime Boston.
  • They also sent out a press release announcing their acquisition of FMP: The Second Raid. The first volume will be out October 3rd.
  • Donbo Koge announced the premiere of a new Di Gi Charat anime at Anime Expo. Weird.
  • Speaking of Koge, Broccoli just licensed Yoki Kota Kiku and the Disgaea manga. Borders will get an exclusive on the former until October. Look for the first volumes in July.
  • ADV has licensed the Jinki:Extend TV series.
  • Apparently, the kids are all wet in the trousers for Naruto. More likely, however, is that a bunch of malodorous post-teens are lapping it up in all it's poorly dubbed glory. It' still sort of saddens me that our 18-20 year olds are on the same sort of emotional level as Japan's 6-11 year olds. Sad, sad, sad. I feel bad for Aka-san, though. He's good people.
  • This is sort of a game thing too, but anyway… Rurouni Kenshin PS2 game site is opened.
  • Otome wa Obokusama ni Koishiteru got it's Star Child site opened up. That's always good.
  • The much talked up Busou Renkin got a site opened up this weekend. My nose has been running all morning. Fuck.
  • Yumeta Company is going to be producing a TV anime for Kiniro no Corda. That's some hot sex for it. How can one man produce so much mucus?!
  • The Japan Times tries to call a spade a spade, but ends up wasting the opportunity. John didn't when it came upon him.
  • Let's see… *sigh* and *sigh sigh sigh.* Please stop it, FUNimation.
  • Media Blasters is helping to make a new Kite OAV. It'll be 45 minutes long, and probably suck.
  • Mobile Suit Gundam Seed C.E.73: Stargazer is set to screen at Tokyo Anime Center's Akiba 3D Theater on July 7th, and a week later online. I think I just blasted more snot than is legally allowed in most countries. These allergies suck.
  • ADV is making a ton of series available for download through ZVUE.com. Be sure to check out the sweet sex.

Figures

  • I will do figures after lunch. I have some stuff to take care of. In the mean time, I'll post this up and link to a nice figure.
  • A nice figure.

Ok, I lied about coming back to do figures. I shouldn't be too busy with work tomorrow, so I will try to do a figure rush. If anyone reading this just got fired from CPM and you'd like to talk about it, or anything like that, I'm offering an anonymous, safe forum to vent anything. I'm not sure how much notice anyone got over there, but still. I'm here for you guys. Unless you worked on dubs in a voicing, or script writing sense. I'm serious. I hate that shit. It's in poor taste. But anyone else. Translators, editors, mail room people. Drop me a line, tell me your story, and we'll set up some space for you to vent and let the world know what happened, you know… if anything. Oh, and if you know anyone who was laid off, let them know about this too. Just send me a note with the contact form and I'll get back to you pretty quick.

Some interesting site updates have taken place on the Genshiken main page. You'll notice that Ogiue is now in the picture, per the last scene of the first season. And that there's some Kujian on the TV they are watching. The new style, not the old style. What does this mean?! Was the Kujian character update/series announcement a farce? Is there something more sinister at work here?! Either way, it looks like we might not be able to count Genshiken out just yet, but it's still too early to tell. I am noticing in the background that they used both the hold and new character designs on the posters. The Genshiken site's picture is a bit low quality though, which raises some concern. AHHHH! I WANT TO KNOW!

I'm writing the Weekend Rollup right now, this was just too important to wait on.

Ok, ok. I got a couple things about this last week by way of Moon Phase and some other Japanese sites I visit, but I was trying to avoid it because I get all weird feeling when I see animated men making kissy face at one another. Well, in this case it extends to real life actors as well, but I'll just move on.

Princess Princess is being turned into a live-action drama, and a drawn-action anime. Amrai-san sent in a news bit about the live action part, so here we go!

For those who don't know this plot, it's as close to yaoi as you can get without actually giving any. It's based around three boys, Mikoto, Yuujirou, and Tooru, who are prettyboy freshmen at an all-boys school. In order to relieve the stresses of being a lonely male student in an elite school, the school forces the three prettyboys to dress up as girls for events and festivals… Hilarity ensues.

Well, that's pretty much the run down for the manga, the anime, and the live-action bit, so it all applies. Amrai sent along some comments about the author and the series. HERE DEY ARE 4 U!

My personal opinion… I don't think anything as yaoi as this has ever been broadcasted on japanese tv. A clue- the mangaka has two pennames; One is a famous yaoi writer(Zaou Taishi), and the other is for shoujo(Tsuda Mikiyo).

He/She published this under the shoujo writer name, but all of the things he/she has published has a yaoi feel. You have been warned. I have gotten mixed reactions, especially by people who have seen the anime. I for one will watch this just to see how the heck they're going to do this.

So, there you guys go. You're warned. And regarding the anime, that pink haired thing is a chick, god damnit. There are no two ways about it. I still haven't looked at the live action site. I don't think I could handle it.

Oh, and sorry for no Weekend Rollup today. I was moving into my new apartment still. There will be an extended version tomorrow. It's Memorial Day! Leave me alone! Oh, and Vista Beta 2 (32-bit) is worth installing as a main OS. I'm using it right now. Just saying. Back to Eureka seveN.

Edit: Having some upload pains. Ah well.
