I swear, Gainax is doing everything it can to just make me as sad as humanly possible. Let an old horse die, guys, come on! But, alas, despite my embittered pleas to do otherwise, Gainax has announced that they'll be working on a new Evangelion film. Wait, make that four new Evangelion films. And here's the kicker, they're not even expanding the canon. No sir. The movies will be an alternate re-telling of the original series. By the gods, will you fuckers just STOP it?! It's a classic, ok? It's NOT THAT GOOD. Anyway, the announce comes by way of the October issue of New Type magazine which also points out that the films will aim to make the series more approachable for complete idiots who didn't understand the ending. Though the Scooooooop!! on the cover make me LOL. The first of the films is due out in Japan next Summer.

Oh man, gj Gainax gj, those money hungry faggots haven't yet learned their lesson. It would have been _great_ if it had expanded the original canon but noooooo, they chose to do the utterly most stupid "milk-the-cow-till-it's-bones&skin" trick in the book, re-tell it. Ah, still it'll provide good laugh afterwards :D

I'm seriously just a bit sad about the whole thing anymore. I mean, there's nothing to really enjoy about it, but they keep milking it and people keep buying into it without a single thought. I'm just confused at this point, really. Please, Gainax, just like the property go with some grace? It's not even that old!

GANAX created it. After that they just sell the rights and licensing to interested parties. These interested parties are the money-milking fags. I mean, hey someone wants to buy rights from you! What's the harm in selling it? Extra income! No no I shouldn't sell anymore since I want it to remain as a classic. Rubbish. There's free money given to me even when I don't ask for it, why not?

I know they created it, but they're hurting their own brand, for people who agree with me anyway. I mean, look at all the crappy Eva figures. And beyond that, they are the ones who agree to milk it, not just other companies, or else they would do better quality control on the product carrying the Eva brand.
My biggest problem comes from that fact that I have loved GAINAX for a long time, and I want to see them do GOOD things instead of milking a series that I didn't find to be THAT amazing in the first place. I certainly know they're capable of it, and I'd like them to be thought of as a company that can consistantly churn out quality stuff, rather than as that group that made Eva that one time.
