October 2006

After Russian Blue's last, utterly dismal Kanon entries into the world of figuring, I am honestly a bit reluctant to post any of their stuff on here. However, these two Air figures are looking a bit more promising, if barely. First in the line is the a sort of fun looking Kamio Misuzu PVC. She's 1/8 scale and stands about 220mm tall. The carve looks passable, but the pictures supplied are of low quality and amateurish. It's not even that hard, people. Whatever. She's out in December for 4,725 yen.

Second, and unpainted thus far, is Kanna(Thanks Adun). I think it's her anyway. Who can tell. Anyway! She is much the same way. Looks like an ok carve. The paints could go horribly wrong with this company. She will be out in December as well for 6,090 yen. Oh, and she is in her angel form. Or whatever you want to call it.

Well, not being one to be down on those FREAKS out there who buy figures of things OTHER THAN sexy women, I am posting this rather large Tachikoma "figure" thing. It's 240mm wide and, while it lacks a fuck ton of the detail of that other one I posted, it is certainly full of character in its own right. And rather large. While it's only slightly larger than the sexy perfect piece Tachikoma, it's a bit cheaper and will certainly fill a void if you happen to have one. Ok, I'm losing interest now. It's due out in December for 6,800 yen from Art Storm.

Five up after the jump.

I'd like to take a moment out of the beginning of this post to just say that I absolutely LOVE the name of Gangan Wing Magazine. It is hilarious. Anyway, Gangan Wing announced that the Kimura Tahiko manga Seto no Hanayome would be adapted into an anime. It's a romantic comedy about a boy who gets saved by a mermaid, but since he saw her true form, they both have to die. To keep from getting the axe, he marries her and now has to keep her true form a secret from everyone. Wackiness abound. The are looks pretty ok. I'll vote yes.

Whew! Ok! I have some planning to do before Sunday. I will be standing on line for a PS3 and a Wii preorder. Don't be jealous. I will take pics… maybe. Anyway! To move right along, Tohokushinsha has announced that Production I.G will be working on a new anime television series of the 1975 giant robot anime Yuusha Reideen. The new series will be directed by Hongo Mitsuru of IGPX and Candidate for Goddess fame. It's due out next spring. In addition, a Yuusha Reideen manga will premiere in the January 2007 issue of Monthly Shonen Ace Magazine.

I know some of the more SINGAPOREAN blogs may have already caught this, but they suck because that are like two hours behind Japan. Whatever. It's cheating, damnit. Anyway, Hobby Stock has put up the colored production shots of Max Factory's Suzumiya Haruhi PVC! I will be doing their other announcements later today, but I thought it was important to do this first. Anyway! The sculpt is absolutely gorgeous and Haruhi is so well captured, I almost want to put my forehead up against hers and do some mind mojo stuff, the eyes are particularly striking. There are no up-skirts, but hey, they're production shots. This AMAZING 1/8 scale figure (190mm) will be out in February for only 3,990 yen. Max is going to be rich.

A fuckrake of pictures after the jump. Please to enjoy. I know I will!

Well, if you're a fan of hot, large-breasted women in bathing suits with tan lines… play Sexy Beach 3. But if you need more weird ass boob physics and mini-games, and no nudity, then you might want to check out this eight minute long trailer for the upcoming Dead or Alive Extreme 2 (They dropped the beach volleyball bit… even though you still play it.) The trailer is, you know, normal. It's in the DOA4 engine. It shows how excellent Team Ninja is at NOT creating clip plains for hair and shirts even though they want to use them for sex appeal or something. Even the boobs go through the legs when they bend over. This shit is just lazy. Itagaki, listen to me. You are a fucking prick. You seem to have a good team behind you (especially the guy who decided to take Ninja Gaiden to PS3) but you are a prick. This shit is subpar. Fix it.

You can grab the full 80MB streaming thing from here or you can check the YouTube after the break. There are some thongs in this clip.

WOO! You people know how much I fucking love Max Factory! Well, I was skipping around their blog this morning, as I have started doing recently, and lo and behold, the newest post… THEY'VE COMPLETED A SUZUMIYA HARUHI SCULPT! And, of course, the thing looks hot. Sexy hot! As you would expect, there's not a whole lot of information about the figure floating around right now, but that will change in the coming months for sure. The only picture they supplied was of the initial sculpt, meaning it isn't colored, but at the bottom of the page, they promised to try to get a colored shot up in the next few days. I will keep you guys updated.

Also, if you're interested, Max has shots up of the final release versions of the Yuuma and Ignis figures that we have all been waiting for. Apparently, the guys at Max feel the same way I do about Ignis being delayed for so long. YAY IGNIS!

I've reposted their picture of the sculpt up after the jump, for posterity. Please enjoy. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS ONE OMG.

Fans of the ever win-filled Kimi ga Nozomu Eien will be interested to know that the spin-off web anime Ayumayu Theater put up its first episode today! The free internet-based series shouldn't really be compared to its super serious older sister, but it's definitely fun to watch. Come on! It's only 4 minutes and 44 seconds long and it's good for quite a few laughs. AND IT'S FREE! And it makes fun of KimiNozo. I've upped it to Daily Motion since YouTube will delete my account if I get another Copyright Violation. You know how it is.

Boy howdy… that sure was cute. Here's the direct stream link! It's pretty good quality. Also, there wasn't any figure news today. Damn it all. I want to see some more pwnz figures.

Edit: If you don't speak the Japanese, then you will be happy to know that DarkMirage has a translation for the episode up. Be sure to stop by the site and thank the good people.

I've been ridiculed and had my anime fandom questioned because I don't DO the robot thing. Especially the Gundam one. But there is a time and place for all that and it's not here. Because here and now is Giant Robo's moment. Well, I'd thought it was. Animate.tv had a thing talking about how the show is set to premier on Softgarage TV (Sg-TV) in January and on Animax Pay-Per-View in February and there was supposed to be a trailer on the website, but when I visit… nothing. Even adding www doesn't help. Ah well. Keep an eye on that site. I'm sure it will pop up soon. Sg-TV is a pretty sweet service, I say. A bit overpriced though.

Major thanks to kacpy for upping the FLV for me. I've YouTubed it after the jump (as soon as it finishes encoding. *sigh*) and the YouSendIt direct download is in the comments below. Looks like they are blocking the US.

Japanese blog Tentative Name has some images of an upcoming Futari wa Precure anime. The images, which are basically just character sketches, show us five ladies that all look to be Pretty Cure warriors. This would be interesting, since the first three series only ever had the two girls (Futari?). Ah well. The images are kind of crap quality, but if you're a Precure fan you will want to check it out.
