Well, it's not quite that time yet, but certainly the New Year is almost upon us and so… ok, well, let me just tell you. My laptop broke yesterday, so I had to go buy a new one. Not cool. This also put a bit of a set back in getting my COOL NEW FEATURE finished. So, yeah. YEAH! I am going to do a quick new anime rollup to cover the last week or so of missed things (including a few C71 things), then I am going to get back to business. I maybe lost a few in the other laptop dying.
Anime/Manga/Games
Let's start with some C71 anime fun. Head on over to Moetron for tons of promo videos from the latest, greatest Comiket convention. They may have been recorded by a retard at times, but there are tons of them. Nantsuiro Drops looks good… and OMGOMGOMG, my favorite, Ikkitousen is looking kick ass.
I'd like to commend the Japanese for their hard work in making 30% of eromanga feature sex acts involving "children." It's an accomplishment. They (the Japanese National Police Agency) don't define is children means lolis or just any underager. Still, saying children is a bit odd considering they don't really exist. Just puts a different face on the whole thing.
Kara no Kyoukai has had an anime movie announced. ufotable is doing the world on the adaptation of the novel.
Saint Beast ~Koin Jojishi Tenshi Tan ~ had its website opened as well. It's the second TV series for the show and it is out this spring.
LUCKY! According to Moonphase and Megami, Pajama Soft has green-lighted an anime adaptation of Prism Ark. Hurray!
Speaking of which, apparently Kara no Kyoukai has a site up already, and a trailer. Imma do a trailer rollup later. A lot of them are likely on that moetron link up above.
Nanoha StrikerS is set to start this coming April 1st. The site has been updated for Striker-o-licious info.
I will do figures and a trailer update later, after I finish the new feature. It's wonderful. I hope you guys will like it. It's been a fuck ton of work and I still have a fuck ton more work to do. I weep. It's COMIN' SOON! And YOU'RE WELCOME FOR THIS POST LIAN! Calling me lazy. I'M WORKING HARD OVER HERE!!!
Talk about a big day for figures. I’ve got a laundry list of figures here that you NEED to see covering the big three for April, and even one standout from Solid Theater that deserves to be in here too. A forewarning to dialup people… there will be a FUCK NUT of pictures after the jump, so be prepared. Let’s get started. We’ll be going in order Alter, GSC, and then Max, and then the one Solid Theater piece.
Alter’s offering for this announcement set only consists of a single figure, but it’s a good one. It’s a 1/8 scale 170mm tall Revy figure. She’s sporting and awesome bent knee, gunslinging pose and comes with two faces; one with a cigarette and one without. She’s an extremely dynamic figure to add to any fans collection and she looks good with both faces on. As much as smokingi s lame, she looks awesome with the cigarette going on. 4,800 yen will get her in on your shelf.
GSC is coming strong with a pair of really nice looking eroge based figures. First up is Akihime Sumomo from the ever visually stunning Nanatsuiro*Drops. She is also 1/8 scale and stands a full 200mm tall. She’s holding that damned goat, though. Damn that lucky goat. The pose is pretty generic, but it’s ok because it’s Sumomo. IT’S OK! Also 4,800 yen.
Second, we have Shingyouji Mao from Boy Meets Girl. I do believe she showed up at GSC’s WanFesu Summer showing earlier this year. Just for fun, I’d like to describe her as a purple haired Asa from Shuffle! The long haired one from after she almost dies. Yep. Anyway, she’s also 1/8 scale and stands 210mm tall. But she is a one-legged figure, so keep that in mind. She looks pretty well balanced though. Yet another 4,800 yen lady.
Moving on to Max Factory, they are coming out with their second Magipoka figure and this time it’s PACHIRA! Yes, the painted sexiness is out and sexy. Pachira is a sexy 1/7 scale and she stands an also sexual 240mm tall up against an unsexual coffin-out line thing. An awesome prop though. She looks a bit shiny, but I’d like to see how that goes under other lighting… you know… like my own lighting. She's out in the afore mentioned month for 5,500 yen.
For these last two we will be moving into 1/10 scale territory… first from Sakura Taisen is, well, Sakura. She's well details for a 1/10 scale character, as you would expect from Max Factory, but I get the feeling this one will end up in obscurity. Sakura and her outfit are well modelled and true to form, but the sword seems to lack the detail you would hope to see in a larger figure. She's out in April for 3,990. I guess you can't do EVERYTHING right on a 1/10 scale character.
Unless you're Solid Theater and you're 1/10 scale figure is Kaze no Ayumu Mono from Jingai Makyou. Oh man, she is pulling her pants off. Oh man, this is one sexy piece of polyvinyl. I'm sorry, Max Factory, but they beat the hell out of you in the 1/10 scale battle of April 2007. She's 135mm tall and will run you 4,500 yen… but she is so worth it.
That's it for this announcement. There was one other figure from Wave, but I'm just skipping it. If you want to see it, then go die. Hit the jump for the shits from all these figures in a nice orderly, in order, column. It's going to be a lot. An awesome lot.
Remember how I told you that Mac Factory was doing a figure for each of the three main ladies in Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu, and just today Max Factory has posted up a picture of the pre-paint sculpt for their Mikuru figure. The figure is shipping in May, so look for preorders to pop up sometime soon. If you're good, you'll catch one the first time around. I am stoked about it, hell yeah. The best part? Only one more figure until Yuki! YAY YUKI!
Here's some other quick news so I can post up the big announcements from MaxFac, Alter, And GSC. Mardock Scramble got cancelled. GONZO cited " various reasons" which everyone has been pointing out. Apparently they lost a lot of money this year. And a Potemayo anime was announced, it's due out next year.
Since ANN were being dicks about who bought the ads for Haruhi, I decided that the fuckers ought to have one done in on them and I told pKjd to tell me who licensed it… well, he figured it out through a little trick of shitty programming for their shitty counter. If you carry yourselves on over to this link, then you will see an error where the counter should be. The counter gives the username for the account ownder via the virtual directory there, and the username is Kado USA. So, I will call it official and say fuck it.
Honestly, I sort of guessed it wasn’t the normal companies because there’s japanese on the damn page. No one in America does that. So there you go. No more waiting two days to find out who has Haruhi for the states. If this site is any indication, they may just try to do right by the show here. Thanks, pK. Credit goes to him, I think, for this find.
UPDATE: Kado literally JUST fixed the counter. Oh man. Smells like they want a secret kept. For proof of the old bug, check out moetron. Exciting? YES! Just for the record, it had been no more than about 5 minutes since we posted this stuff that they got it fixed. Someone is watching.
If you're one of the six people left on earth who don't think there are enough figures of Witchblade-enabled Masane floating around, then surely today's announcement of just that from Tora no Ana will make you squeal with delight. The sculpt on this 1/7 scale PVC doesn't look half bad. The butt looks to be a bit plasticy, but over all it's a nice body shape and the coloring on her head is good. What I do vehemently dislike, however, is the fact that this is one of those one-leg support action-style figures. Masane's ample curves are being help up by a single peg going into a single foot. It's likely a decently long peg, but my money would be on are lady Masane sitting on her face in a few months. Still, if you like her and want to find a way to keep her perky, you can have her this April for 6,500 yen.
There's one fair quality shot up after the jump, and this constitutes literally the only other news for the day. So enjoy! I'll be posting some stuff tomorrow most likely and then I will be off for a while, posting important news as I see it. YAY!
Well, I am one of the biggest Zero no Tsukaima fans in the world. AND I am way more stoked than YOU GUYS to hear that the recently released 4th DVD of Zero no Tsukaima contained confirmation that the series was getting a second season. it's just on an insert, so there's not a lot of info about it, but by god, I am stoked. SO STOKED!!!! Anyway, the news comes by way of the only man worthy of my news linkage, pKjd. I am silently in competition with him for COOLEST NEWS GUY ON THE INTERNET. I'm winning, by the way.
If you're a Kodansha fan, and I am… sometimes… and you're a goth horror manga fan, which I'm not, then you will be stoked to hear that an anime for Kaibutsu Ojou is in the works. There's nothing else on this one as of yet as it was announced via the posting of a freaking magazine cover, but I'm sure details will flow forth from the bosom of the intertrons in the coming weeks as the magazine hits stands and proliferates. If not, who cares? The anime is going to be called Kaibutsu Ojou ~Princess Resurrection~ and it's going to be a TV anime. On unrelated news, DelRey recently announced the American release of the manga, so that'll be out soon as well. I am more excited about the Christmas inserts. They look NEAT!
Also, have any of you guys seen this Japanator thing? It's trying to slide into our racket on the coattails of Desctructoid, which is an a-ok gaming site. I mean, maybe I am just a jealous Jennie here, but why they gotta come muscling in on our territory? On the plus side, they all appear to be completely unaware of any market outside the US, so we don't seem to have much to worry about. I won't be linking them, just search what I said up above and you'll find it. The posts range from Hard Gay videos to crap about Gantz and American DVD releases. Really interesting stuff… Yeah. And check out those code names. Guess they didn't want people to know they liked anime. Guys, give me some thoughts on this? I NEED your opinions. NEED. Scathing is more fun, but serious ones also welcome. Spoilsports.
I don't remember seeing anything from Toy International recently, if ever, but this entry is sure to turn the heads of some Demonbane and/or pretty girl fans. The figures have some issues, but overall this pair PVC of Al and Leica doesn't look too bad, especially coming from a small, relatively unheard of (to me anyway) company. The figures are 1/7 scale and stand about 200mm tall at the tallest, there are some issues I have with the seams, costume design, and paint job, but it's not at all a bad offering. The price might look bad, but for a pair of 1/7 scale figures, 12,390 yen isn't all that bad. At any rate, it's out this coming February, so if you like Demonbane, or bust girls in swimsuits, then keep an eye out.
Am I being too forgiving? Do you think? Figure it out for yourself after the jump. And this is it for news today. Amazing, right? Anyway, a ton of shots after the jump. I think the issue mostly stems from the figures looking awkward when they aren't together… and the paint is a bit cheap seeming. They're just sample shots, though, so who knows. I mean, that Mint figure came out ass ugly and deep brown. Uncool.
If Han and rats don't think HappyRiuva is funny, then I hate them both. How about that? And, yes, do answer your question, it's a slow ass news day. Slow as in… the length of an eight hour day when you are done with all your work but you can't leave. A little girl in Gaza, where Muslims take turns helping to rid the world of themselves, had a sign with Haruhi on it… and that's news. Wow. There is nothing worth looking at in that picture except Haruhi. STOP FIGHTING IDIOTS! Religion is a farce anyway. So, moving on, both Hanny Pants and Super Pants put up pictures of figures they got.
Han took the most Singaporean shots of Sanae-sama I have ever seen, and dressed as Uma Kamen she looks even more ravishing (haha). Funny how things turn around, as I remember being the only one wanting to see Sumomomo and now Han is buying figures from it. Ass. It's a good review with good shots, but you might not want to view it at work or at home. It's not a very good figure. Just a heads up. He also took shots of some new stuff he got in the mail, for those of us who have bills to be jealous about.
Secondly, ratolicious did a review of the unexpectedly good looking Maria from Witchblade. Now, I know you're thinking "There are other characters in Witchblade besides Masane?" Yes, there are… just barely. The reason I qualify with unexpectedly is because it's a Koto sculpt which, as he points out, tend to fall in the "meh" category, but this time they've made a suitably hot girl… aside from the seeming eye thing/facial expression she has going on. Might just be the angle? Still, it's a good body sculpt with some paint issues around rats's arm band, not sure if that account for all of them though. Still, give it a look. The face she has on might not be for me, but maybe you are into that. Sicko.
One piece of figure news coming up after this… and it's a sexy piece at that. I think. I haven't viewed the full thing yet…
Hey guys. Looks like Christmas is right around the corner. Are you going to spend it with your sweetheart? ARE YOU MOTHER FUCKER?!?! HUH??! ARE YOU GONNA KISS HER?! EAT A CAKE?! Ok, enough caps. Let's let me update your with regards to what I will be doing over my Christmas break… I will be taking a hiatus for the week of my vacation for sake of… well… vacation and for working on that huge new feature I mentioned. Anime/Manga/Games
So there's an English language Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu website online. It's only sporting secret ideas right now… not sure what it's all about, though current speculation is that the show has been licensed in the US. ANN knows how, because the company bought ads, but the assholes are playing stupid and pretending they can't call up their advertising department to find out. "Integrity" and all that. Well, fuck you ANN. Fuck you good and hard. I will be building the tools to more directly compete with you good and soon.
Trailer: There's a trailer for the new Mushiking movie online. Click the fifth button from the left on this and the next one to watch them.
Next up is this Memo bluE #00 figure. She looks like SOME RACING GIRL! She has Dole Banana stickers on her boobs!!! There's also a green one… from… some other banana company. They're out in March for 6,297 yen. Naisu ba-di.
And lastly for this rollup is the… very not worksafe Novia from Hot Gimmick 3. Rawr. She has Christmassy boobs that can be made into normal boobs by removing the covers… and she's well carved… and ample bosomed. Not to be missed by tech-girl fans. A shame about that leg seam, but I will overlook it! She's out in March for 6,800 yen, so pre-order it today for someone you love!
Well, sorry to say, we're done for now. I'll be posting more stuff tomorrow and throughout the week until Thursday or Friday. I will keep you guys updated of any AMAZING news over the holidays, but otherwise, I will just be saving it for a big, stung out Rollup for after the break. And a new feature. I will catch you fuckers later, though. Au revoir, mon petit frites.
