June 2007

Well, last bit for the day. Be sure to remember to check out the contest, if you haven't yet. I can't rest on my laurels here. Anyway, Wafuudou Ganguten is doing one of the world's sexiest eroge based figures up, PVC style. FrenchDoll's sculpt does Angela of Princess Waltz proud. I've seen it before, and passed it up for prices on prepaints, but this time around, I may be drawn in by the 200mm lady's charms. Yessir. She is looking damn good in the production shot. Here's hoping that it stays looking this nice. She'll run you 6,980 yen this September.

In other positive news, that I won't be posting pictures for, FREEing is doing a second run of their 1/4 scale versions of both Haruhi and Mikuru in full bunny regalia. If you missed them the first time, be sure not to do it again. Stupid. They're still 9,800 yen, look for them this August.

And hit the jump for the only picture of Angela. Needs MOAR. Scratch that. Found some more. Shame about that el. figure I liked too… turned out crap.

Wow. The last person I really expected to do an all-at-once five figure blowout is Griffon Enterprises. But I suppose that's good on them! Let's get this fucker rolling. Ridiculous numbers here. First up is a pair of ladies from Mai-Otome. Leading the pack is the busty-o-licious Akane Soir ~master robe ver.~. I'm just saying what I was told. No idea what that means. You can couple her tiny clothing with Arika Yumemira's ~damage ver.~. Basically, it boils down to the bulk of her clothes being blown off. Both of the figures look ok. Not super great, but I wouldn't kick them out of bed for summon a mythic beast from the great beyond. Both are out in August for 6,825 yen and 7,140 yen respectively. Both are also 1/7 scale and 255mm and 265mm to the top, including stands, respectively.

But we're not done yet! NO SIR! You think Alter and Max are the only folks who can throw eroge ladies into bikinis? No sir. Griffon has this 1/7 scale, 160mm tall Sakura from Fate/hollow ataraxia in a bikini. All I can really think is that is… has a lot of pink. Maybe too much for my tastes. She's out in August as well for 5,880 yen.

Seriously diversifying the field here, Griffon's next entry is Minatsuki Saya from Black Cat. She's sporting a lovely floral yukata and OH MY GOD, SHE'S GOT A GUN! EVERYBODY DOWN! Ha… ha… ha… I'd say this figure is the worst of the bunch(still, not horrible), really. Which is a shame because I so love ladies with guns and yukatas. Somehow, she is also 1/7 scale, but is a full 60mm taller than Sakura, clocking in at 220mm. Someone is lying. She's Augusting your balls for 6,825 yen.

True to form, I have saved the very best for last. I have… but one word. Chouun. Yes. Chouun Shiryu, our amazing Ikkitousen goddess. If anyone was ever able to use an unpainted base model to make me consider spending a RIDICULOUS 9,975 yen on a 1/7 PVC (That's right. Not resin.), this would have to be the one. The damaged clothes/exposed breast figure has a damn good looking sculpt and, squatting as she is, she stands 150mm. I'll be classing her mildly NSFW since it's all grey and low detail. Out in August… we already mentioned the painful price.

Hit the jump for pictures of everyone… in the order mentioned above. You shall not want for pictures this day, my friends.

Completing the trifecta, and mildly annoying me in the process, a Suzumiya Haruhi game has been announced for the Wii. Why they couldn't do these announcements all at once is waaaay beyond me. Probably wanted to keep the idea on people's minds for more than day. Still, Haruhi is coming to the Wii, and there's not shit for information on the title. No genre, no release date. Only that Kadokawa Shoten is putting it out. In protest, this post will have a Lucky Star icon.

I seem to remember, back I posted the original Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai trailer, someone said they wanted MOAR. Well, looks like they're going to get their wish. And make it double! (Mmm, Pokemans.) Animate.tv just tossed up two PVs for the upcoming Higurashi anime sequel. The trailers each run around one minute and 45 seconds, give or take, unless my thing was lying to me. I haven't gotten to watch them yet. Ah well! I know that it features a certain set of green haired, much adored twins. The show hits the air on July 5th.

What are you waiting for? Hit the streams here and here, or hit the jump for convenient DailyMotion sexiness. Oh, also a program announcement clip. Not going to DM that.

Well, I sort of dropped the ball on the Doki Doki Majo Shinpan news. Like the name change from Saiban to Shinpan, but hey! Bygones and all that. But let's catch things up a bit. Admittedly, I skipped the news yesterday, for the contest, so I have some catching up to do there as well… gonna be a long day. Anyway, the Doki Doki Shinpan soundtrack will feature art from the game and the music of Shiokawa Youhei. It hits stores on July 24th for the low, low price (HA!) of 2,940 yen.

Today is a very special thing for ikimashou. And for me. Today, this post, marks the 1000th post on ikimashou.net. I got to thinking… how should we celebrate? And then it hit me! A contest! So I was thinking up prizes and I put them together… and they all kicked ass… so I though HEY! Let's pull the stops out on this motherfucker. So what did I come up with? Naturally, THREE CONTESTS! I figure ikimashou is pretty much about anime, manga, and figures, right? So, that's right kiddies. Three games to play, three chances to win. So let's cut the shit. You want to know what you can win, right? Make sure you READ THE RULES!

Anime Contest

The Game: Intensive Training
The Prize: Neon Genesis Evangelion: The Perfect Collection and Cowboy Bebop The Movie R1 DVDs

The Deal: It's a simple game. Shinji pussed out, so you need to make up for his whining. You take a picture of your best time on Intensive Training. A picture of your monitor and a screenshot, and something with "ikimashou Contest" written on it. I won't have no photoshops in my contest. Best time wins.

Manga Contest

The Game: Biggest Bookworm
The Prize: ROBOT6 and Volume 1 of SumomomoMomomo (Both in Japanese)

The Deal: I want a picture of your manga and artbook collection. Impress me, you otaku fuckers. I want to see everything you've got. Make sure one of the pictures has a something with "ikimashou Contest" on it clearly visible. Biggest collection wins, and the winner walks away with some sexy books to add to the collection. Do not resize your pictures. JPG, PNG, and GIF filetypes accepted.

Figure Contest

The Game: Pity Party
The Prize: Space Girl Nagato Yuki Resin Prepaint

The Deal: I want your stories. Not just any stories. I want to know what horrible thing has happened to you that's otaku related. Did your mom walk in on your jerking to loli porn? Did your tits fall out an Animazement 2003? Tell me why you need the lovely Nagato Yuki to come provide you some comfort. Try not to go over 1000 words.

The Rules

You have one week! So at 11:59:59 PM US Pacific Time on July 5th, entries are cut off. You have until then to get your best times, stories, and pictures together. I need you guys to send all the required stuff to contest@ikimashou.net along with your full name and address where you want the prize sent. Make sure you include "ikimashou (Anime,Manga,Figure) Contest" in the subject line. You can enter each contest once. One e-mail per contest entry. So one for anime, one for manga, etc. This contest is open to ALL COUNTRIES. If I find out anything shifty went on, or if you try to enter a contest more than once, you're banned. Oh, and a quick note, all this stuff is in perfect condition, but it is from my personal collection. The NGE box is a little scuffed. That's it though.

Edit: Oh yeah, forgot to mention. YOU CAN ONLY WIN ONE CONTEST. If someone wins multiple contests, I will send out e-mails dealing with that at that time. If you'd like, you can include the rank of your interest in the prizes for me. Either way, no big deal.

If I forgot something, or you need more info, ask in the comments and all will be revealed. And be sure to tell your friends. The more competition, the more fun, right? Don't hesitate to ask about anything. Best of luck to everyone!

Well, well, well. It looks like Haruhi and I have another thing in common. We're apparently both big fans of Sony. In addition to the previously announced PSP game, Haruhi will be getting another adventure game on the PS2 called Suzumiya Haruhi no Tomadou (Bewilderment). It's set to hit stores in January of 2008 and will have Haruhi running around as Ultra Hero Haruhi. The storyline is that, as Kyon, you will be working through the daily activities of the SOS-dan as they make a fantasy game. It will be different from the PSP storyline, according to 2ch. Sounds like a purchase for me.

Also, Ultra Hero Haruhi is getting a Figma character. Page scan after the jump.

Let me be frank, it's quite early in the morning, and I'm a bit sleepy. Yeah, it's only 6:30am here, but still. I'm pretty sure what I was reading on MoonPhase said that the Sisters of Wellber anime was just got approved for a second season. I don't even remember what shit show is about. I think… something… with a war? Shit, I don't remember. Feel free to explain it in the comments. Anyway, yeah, the anime has been approved for a second season and no word on when it will hit the air. Blog's not updated yet, but I'm sure it will be soon.

Also, we're inching closer to a gigantic fuckall surprise. Given, I'm not 100% sure what it is yet, but I will know… pretty soon. Yessir. Then I will tell you when the time is right. If you miss it, you will hang yourself.

That wonderful season is once again upon us. Yes, that magical time of year where Square Enix starts dumping junk Final Fantasy figures on us. I mean, I don't hold it against them, I just have trouble caring about FF figures anymore… unless they are of Yuffie. She is mine. In my heart. Anyway, Square Enix just announced a Final Fantasy Trading Arts Mini 9-piece 1BOX. Sounds complicated, no? It's not really. Basically, the breakdown of the five announced figures, which look pretty decent for cutesy trading figures, goes as follows: The faggy kid from FFXII, Cloud, the naive-but-doable chick from FFXII, Rinoa from VIII, and Yuuna, the X-2 version. Honestly, for the price, I'd say go for it. You can have the full kit and/or caboodle for 3,119 yen this October. Not bad for nine 60mm figures in this DAY AND AGE.

Only one picture after the jump. Not sure if other figures are in the bunch, but hey, the five they show are plenty fine. Ladies, act now. It's pretty much the only way to get figures of males. Except those terrifying realistic DeathNote figures.

See what I did there? That's title making SKILL right there. Well, Good Smile Company has come trotting out more October offerings, and they are a bit underwhelming to me. Really. I'll jump right into it. Adding a whole new level of… something to the Nendoroid line, GSC has decided to do a Nendoroid Binchou-tan. For some reason, all I can find my self asking is how, exactly, a nendoroid Binchou-tan is different from a normal one. She looks the same. Sort of boring, nothing really to say about it otherwise. It'll be out in October for 3,500 yen. (What's with the price bump?)

Continuing the line of uninspired figures for October (sorry, just… not very interesting figures), GSC is doing the iDOLM@STER thing. From Xenoglossia comes Hagiwara Yukiho. Now, normally I am one to just silently ogle cute ladies in bikinis, but this one is just sort of… not great. The entire figure looks a bit, hm, soft. In a build sense, that is. Things just seem not to carry the firm lines I generally expect. It's not necessarily a bad thing, I think it's well fit for the hair, but when you have a bikini figure, there needs to be detail in the body, which is sorely lacking here. The breasts sort of seem to come up short, based on the angles given. Meaning, that seem to stop farther from the chest than where it seems that should. Likewise, the arms, stomach, and legs just lack any sort of definition that would make Yukiho a fun addition to my shelf. Not bad, but not good either. Xenoglossia fans might dig it. She's out in October for 4,800 yen.

Hit the jump for a few pictures of each of our special ladies.
