Well, well, well. Most people probably just enjoyed (or hated) Moetan and moved themselves right along to the next big thing. But, in Japan, most anime are broadcast on about 10 different stations. Well, in the case of Moetan, when it came time for the TV Aichi broadcast, the fans noticed a little something different about the episodes. Namely that the transformation sequences were uncensored. So, if you aren't one of those anti-loli rabble rousers, you should check out the screens of it. Of course, uncensored means boobies, so keep that in mind. And, they're not really lolis, huh? They're like… 16/17. Japan is a blessed place with wonderful people, huh?
July 2007
Well-de-well. I just got back from Otakon. It was super ball lick garbage and I'll never be going back to it again. I'll be sticking to Acen and Anime Expo if I do anything. And I might, because there's lots of good porn to be had. I will write a big thing about it on dasaku. I'll link it over here when I do. Anyway, this is going to be one big fucking rollup, with lots of goodies. So get ready. Also, I'm breaking the WanFesu stuff off into a different little section. It'll be right after figures.
Anime/Manga/Games
- Shin-Ei Douga has announced the latest addition to its series of annual WWII anime movies for children. (They do a yearly anime TV movie.) It's going to be called Futatsu no Kurumi and it'll be about a present day girl who gets sent back in time to Tokyo several days before the firebombings. It doesn't say which bombing is covered, but I'd assume it's the March 9th bombing which saw 80 to 100 thousand people killed. It's pretty near the most deadly single raid ever carried out. Well worse than Dresden which gets tons more attention. But don't mind me. America is great and just. No war criminals over here. No sir. Especially not Curtis LeMay.Sorry, I'm a WWII nerd. And a bit pissed that everyone gets criticized except the people who won. Fuckers.
- Suteki Tantei Labyrinth is getting an anime. It's due out this fall.
- Ohhhh yeah, remember that file sharing thing with Weekly Shounen Magazine? One of the men involved got a year in prison. The judge figured prison is a fitting punishment for SCANNING A FUCKING MAGAZINE because we need to respect the expense and effort of copyright blah blah blah. Totally overkill.
- I swear I've known this for a few weeks… I forget if it posted it already, Bamboo Blade, one of my favorite manga, is getting an anime TV show to be produced by AIC.
- Also, D.C. II ~ Da Capo II ~ will be airing this fall.
- On a side note, I want them to make a Teppan Shoujo Akane anime already. Fuckers.
- Looks like there are some screens up for Shin Sangokumusou 5 (Dynasty Warriors if you're a douche.)
- Cave is apparently looking for cosplayers to help out with advertising for their upcoming horizontal shooter Death Lolita. Those will be good ads.
Figures
- Finally, some fun trading figures. Been a while. Do the faces match up? Not exactly, but there's some hot Shakugan no Shana trading figures headed our way in November from Toys Works. The full box runs 7,350 yen. Well worth it for 10 super sexies.
- If you're big into Tales of Symphonia, you might want to have a look-see at these ToS trading figs. Not great, but would make a ToS fan happy, I bet. The 12-piece 1BOX is 6,300 yen in October.
- Wanna take a walk with me to the eroero side of the tracks? Well, this re-release of the "Onna 2" (a temporary name, I hear) figure is ready to head to a love hotel, slip off her robe, and show you her sexy, sexy arm seam. Nice. Price and date are irrelevant.
- BUT FUCK THAT OLD CRUSTY SHIT! I'm going to take you to a place that I go whenever I'm feeling… like a rapist. And that place is a pair of Manabi Straight ladies, together, forever. It's Mucchi and Manabi sporting the classic bloomers look, and making me a worse person for the things I think when I look at this figure. Not the best carve ever, but I love the distinctness of the faces. Very good. They're 120mm tall each and the set runs you 5,800 yen this October. Also in red bloomers.
- There's some shokai gentei-ban going on with a 200mm Shihou Matsuri sola figure. LIMITED EDITION OMGOMGOMGOMG. Out in October for 5,800 yen.
- How about more Shana? Here's a reprint of this ceremony version and a wedding version to go with it. Both are 5,229 this October.
- Another shitty SIF EX Hakufu. Alter or MaxFac, I BEG YOU GUYS, MAKE AN IKKITOUSEN LINE!!!
- The Creators' Labo line is doing pretty fine. Entry number 13 comes along in the form of Simca, the hottest thing on AirTreks… right after that short haired chick from the one arc. She was hot shit. Simca would have been hot with short hair, but it was pink. Not as good. Out in October for 7,140 yen. Face is a little chub and it'll be made with Yamato's PVC. So, fair warning.
- OMGOMGOMGOMG SIGNUM!!! WOO! Got some reason, I have the urge to rub her shiny boobs until the paint comes off. Coming from CM Corp in September for 8,190 yen and standing 210mm tall. Yep.
- Box 2 of the Shuraki thing is up for pre-order. Probably you missed it. Sorry kids. Dunno what all the buzz is about there. I mean, they're nice, sure. Just… yeah. Not THAT special.
- Also, quick older stuff. Shitty FF Tactics trading arts. Poorly sculpted, shiny DOAX2 figure. Annnnd, decent Kamyu from Utawarerumono.
Wonder Festival 2007 [summer]
- Are we all excited? HERE WE GO! Just gonna be quick links to the industry limited edition pages.
- Good Smile Company/MaxFactory - Sweet Nendoroid and plush from GSC, MaxFac… different Haruhi accessories with the figures? SCANDAL!
- Alter - We all remember these.
- Griffon Enterprises - Big props for Ikkitousen merch. WOO! Most of these are kits, for people who don't know Griffon.
- Wafuudou Ganguten - Alt. Color Iris from Princess Waltz. Will also be at Comiket.
- WAVE - Black Dress Lucy Maria Misora. Can get it online after the event.
- Orchid Seed - Crappy new color Ryofu. Sucks.
- Volks - Probably it'll be a bunch of creepy dolls. OH AND A FUCKING 1/4 KENSHIN FROM SENGOKU RANCE (It's so hard not to type Lance… I still forget sometimes)
- Nitro+ - I'm glued to their page. Them and Leaf. Leaf's not doing anything, but Nitro+ has some sweet ass puppets. PUPPETS!! And Demonbane figures.
And that's all folks. I'm going to go home and look at all my stuff I bought. I'll take pictures probably. WOO! Dinner and a nap!
Well, I was just sitting here, minding my own business and all of the sudden… my RSS reader brought back one of those rare titles that doesn't fit the style of any of my normally updated feeds. THAT CAN ONLY MEAN ONE THING! Max Factory is on the move! I got out my trusty sniper jiggy and aimed it squarely at the sexy melon on of the MaxFactory server and REQUESTED THE PAGE! What did I come to find? A sexy (I use that a lot, really just means "currently in existence") Sakaki Mizuki from Lovedol ~Lovely Idol~ has been slapped up in initial painted prototype form. She's honestly looking pretty good. I'm not as excited as I might be if I was all over the idol merchandise scene right now, but it's still a solid sculpt and it has those slightly too tight thigh-highs. Mmm… thigh flesh. Delicious. Check it out on their site. I like to leave their pictures over there until things come up for preorder. So I'll post them then.
Well, it's been a while since I hit up some news that no one else had bothered to cover, so let me get you some information that I think you might like. Now, recently, I'd been a bit bummed that all the games coming out were hitting the PS2 still, and was wondering when a visual novel company was going to bring the funk to the PS3. Well, AquaPlus has answered my fevered cries and announced Tears to Tiara. Now, I am an unapologetic PS3 fanfaggot, so there you go, but this news was JUST what I had been hoping for. Thank you, AquaPlus. If you're like me, you're probably all balls out wanting more of a taste of what's going on here. Well, there's two options there. More info will be in the July 27th issue of Famitsu Weekly, and you can hit Famitsu Web for a run down and some screens. I haven't had a chance to read through, but it's looking like some turn based RPG action there. Will it ever see US release? NOPE! Not likely, anyway. Unless Atlus goes after it.
I'll try to take care of figure news tomorrow. I'm really busy with work and getting ready for Otakon. You guys understand. I'll try to do some blogging from there… or whatever. I doubt I will be paying attention to any announcements, really. Who knows. I don't.
Hey alrighty! We heard…. about a million years ago… that Disgaea 3 was being worked on from some NIS exec in an interview. Well, now it's been officially confirmed by Nippon Ichi[PDF]. Yes kiddies, we will soon have our sexy hands on some sexy smexy new Disgaea. And we will play it for a million hours. And it will be good. Also, let me take a moment to thank NIS for doing it up right and leaving things sprited as opposed to trying to do some crazy 3D bullshit. I'm no into that. 2D is the way for me. Now I just want a sweet ass Guilty Gear HD for my PS3. And none of that weird adventure game business they're doing for the 360.
One of my favorite things in the anime world is when a subanime of a manga or other anime or what-have-you gets spun off into it's own real series. I mean, it can really go well. The original Kujian anime was headed for WONDERFULAWESOME until they reimaged it, Getsumen To Heiki Miina, and Puni Puni Poemi. Well, we're going to add one to that list. Ryofuko-chan, from the kick ass, getting (or gotten, I don't remember) an anime adaptation itself, manga Souta-kun no Akihabara Funtouki, is getting a 4 episode OVA. Also, let me just take this time to point out that Square Enix publishes some of the best manga in Japan. That is all.
There a trailer up on the IE Only, Fuck Every One Else website Biglobe for the ending episodes of Code Geass. Didn't they confirm a season 2 already? It's not even a big deal at this point. Just a fair warning here, you shouldn't watch this if you don't know that Euphie dies. It'll totally spoil it for you. Haha, the trailer runs 2:30 long and goes over the sort of gist of what will be in the two episode season ender that's set to broadcast on the 28th. Euphie dies. Lelouch is Zero. Post may contain spoilers. Verbal is Kaiser Soze.
Update: I found this other trailer… didn't watch it. Might be the same one. Who knows?!
Well, this first bit is the only thing that happened over the weekend or today that's worth posting up. So don't be mad at me. I'm just keeping up appearances. Anyway, there's a full length trailer online for Stranger. When you get to the site, hit the Flash page for the trailer. There's also one for the Precure movie but I won't be transcoding it for streaming. Sorry kids.
Mainly, I just wanted to bring up that I will be at Otakon this year, so if anyone wants to hang out or anything, drop me a line or a comment or something and we can meet up or whatever. IF YOU GUYS ARE INTO THAT SORT OF THING. No sexual favors though… probably.
Well, it's always nice to get more than one sexy figure in a day. Today, so far, we've already done that Alter pair. So, to cap off that wonderful announcement, it seems only fitting that Art Storm's beautifully put together Mizuka from Sengoku Cannon. Truly, if ever anything has shown of the prowess of Cerberus Project, this is among the best of them. The sculpt and paint on these preliminary shows are just absolutely wonderful. The pose is interesting, and the juzu really make for the perfect accessory. What a pleasant Friday for figures! And here's the best part! She's 1/6 scale, stands 200mm tall, and will be out this November for a scant 6,800 yen. Looks like my November just changed around a bit.
Hit the jump for pictures from all the usual haunts. Can never get too much of Mizuka.
Well, well. Another of those crazy PVCs from those crazy unknown figure companies. The people looking to make a name this time are the lovely folks at Pikkoro (Piccolo, if you like). Looks like they're making a fairly solid offering of their Mutou Mahiro PVC. She stands 210mm tall, and from the single advert shot of her, I'd say she looks like a pretty good sculpt. It's not Alter or MaxFac, but it could certainly compete with some of Koto's more common offerings. Along with that, it's got a nice looking base and some nice accessories. I'd say it's a damn good effort for the first think I recall seeing from them. She's out waaay off in January for 6,279 yen.
Hit the jump for that single advert shot. Damn lazy companies. TAKE MORE PICTURES! I think this might be their main site, if anyone cares. Then there's the company that makes all the train toys. Not clear on the connection between the two.
