Well, since I have some inside connections at Comiket this year, I managed to get some exclusive shots of the MaxFactory booth. Yes, that's right. And among the shots, I noticed a figure that's not up on their site. The figure is for a character named Emuemu, and she's from Kemeko Deluxe, which runs in Dengeki Gao! and has an anime scheduled for 2008. If you look really close on the shit quality picture, you can see that she is due out in May 2008.

So another of those freaky drawing comedy manga is getting an anime. I don't think I've done news on it, but the website is online now. The comedy manga Noramimi's anime has had its website put online. I hesitate to say it's preopened because I am not sure if much else will be added. The series hits TVs on January 9th.

For those of you who are… I guess… into soul eating, Soul Eater is getting an anime. At least, that's what MoonPhase tells me. And they are never wrong about anything ever. Soul Eater was originally one of those action manga things and the anime they're developing will run for a year, so I assume 52 episodes, give or take. It's set to hit TVs this coming spring. Hopefully the charm of the characters is brought over in the anime adaptation. Mmm, charm.

So! Drama fans will be pleased to hear that two books are getting the live action treatment. WildLife, which is the story of a delinquent who, as if by shitty story magic, turns into a veterinarian, is the first one that's set to get turned. No real information yet on when, or who will be in it. But who needs that shit anyway!

TBS is going to be carrying the adaptation of the manga Daisuki!! Yuzu no Kosodate Nikki. Now, let me explain the plot in my own crude idiom. A freaky retarded womanchild gets knocked up by a freaky retarded manchild, who dies; at this point, the tard with the vagina raises the baby herself. Probably the baby is retarded as well. I know, it's the height of entertainment. I guess so long as it helps people pretend like they really understand something… then it's awful. AWFUL! SHAAAAME! Karina, the model, will be starring. Starts January 17th.

Well, well my Ikkitousen loving brothers. Vengeance is ours. With an unapologetically perverse new attitude (redesigning a site does that to people), it looks like you guys won't have to go digging around for uncensored shots of the new Kanu Unchou -LTD DX ver.- figure from Griffon. Yes, that's right, she's 130mm tall and 1/7 scale… kneeling. And she's removing those troublesome bits of shirt. The face is a bit lame, but otherwise, I'd hit that. On the plus side? It's only 6,825 yen. Just in time for Christmas too, with the December release. So tell your girlfriend to fuck off with the cakes, you want a sex goddess for Christmas. And she ain't it.

I'm sure that not too many of you here are huge Detroit Metal City fans, and that's ok. I'm not either. It sort of sicks me out in a sick and out sort of way. Anyway, MoonPhase had information that the next issue of Young Animal would feature an announcement to the effect that Detroit Metal City was getting both an anime and a live-action movie. Entirely possible, as it's a popular book, but the announcement has since been removed (which MoonPhase also notes). It could mean that the announcement was just premature or it could mean that the information was inaccurate and part of some right-wing conspiracy to lull the youth of today into a false sense of security.

But that's boring! In other news, I am in the latest Japanator podcast. And boy howdy was I censored to high fuck. It's amazing, really. I couldn't stop laughing every time it bleeped something I said. Pure comedic genius, the swear-bleep. Anyway, please listen to it and then GIVE ME PRAISE! Else I won't know you all really love me. Deep down in your pockets.

Well, MoonPhase is awash in delicious news. That's the second time I've said "awash" today. I think that's the upper limit. Anyway, news comes that both the mystery manga Bus Gamer and the light novel series Toshokan Sensou are getting anime adaptations. Studio Izena is going to be handling the animation duties for Bus Gamer, which promises… to… it doesn't promise anything. It has a rookie director as well. And it's out sometime next year.

The same MIGHT have been said for Toshokan Sensou, but it looks like Production I.G will be taking care of producing the anime and it is also due out next year. Yay for non-shit anime! YAAAAAY!

See what I did there? That's a pun. Why is it a pun? Well, because Hachimitsu to Clover is getting a TV drama adaptation. Namuri Riko is starring and… I don't know, I just really can't care about shoujo to begin with, let alone such a campy one as Hachimitsu to Clover. Now, don't get all up my ass about it. I'm sorry my testicles still produce testosterone. But even if they didn't, it's a TV drama, and I hate those too. I'm sure it will just dazzle all you ladies and closeted gay men out there.

Also, I'm not THAT lazy, there just wasn't shit worth posting yesterday. Except this. And I figured it could wait.

There's anime to be announced. The website for the live action adaptation of the Sakigake! Otoko Juku manga is online. It's due out in 2008, and for some crazy reason has both Japanese and English pages. Crazy because you guys suck!

Let me put this out there before we get going. Rollup trailers won't be put in Flash format anymore, since every video service is up the arse of anyone who whines about anything ever for the rest of time. Makes me sad. Roll it up bitches.

• Yggdra Union is not an animus? Whaaaaa? It's a PSP re-release of a GBA game. There's a three minute anime opening for it. You sho' nuff gonna enjoy it.

• Yumedamaya: The Strange Tale of the Dreamball Dealer is getting made into an anime. How do you feel about that? It's an award winning screenplay after all. It's about an 11-year-old who wants to escape her everyday life. Soooo original.

• Animators and directors in Japan have started a union. Normally, I'm fairly against unions and more in favor of a government putting people before industry, but the likelihood of that happening in Japan is next to nil. So good on the animators! Hopefully they can get a fair wage and the Japanese government will take a few notes. Ah well, it's always the millionaires who bitch first when you start talking about them having slightly less money. POWER TO THE PEOPLE!
